Card Power Control

Card power modules and keyless energy-saving logic for guestrooms.

  • 20–35%Guestroom standby energy reducible
    (vacant cut-off + delayed disconnect)
  • 30s–5minDelayed disconnect after card removal
    (configurable anti-trip)
  • 4-wayPower decision inputs
card · keyless · door · room state
  • 3Deployment forms
touch panel · power box · wireless

* Savings ratios vary by climate, circuit zoning, and HVAC linkage; tender docs should state “calibrate per mock-up room. ”

Card power and door contact linkage logic

Card power decision tree · four inputs

Define logic before model in tenders—the table reflects PurePoint Smart engineering practice; relay channel count and delay parameters are configured in the RCU scene table or card-power module.

① Card power

Guest or staff card closes the power contact, controlling the room main breaker or branch relays.

  • Delayed disconnect after card removal avoids full cut-off on brief exit
  • May share card with room key, elevator, and lock, or use separate cards
  • Seecard power catalog

② Keyless power

No-slot retrofit: door contact plus stay permission drives power—suited to boutique properties and partial renovations.

  • Door open + valid permission → power; checkout permission revoked → cut-off
  • Integrator defines ajar / prolonged-open policy
  • Often deployed with wireless RCU gateway

③ Door contact linkage

Door contact does not power the room alone—it combines with card-power logic via AND/OR to prevent unoccupied load.

  • DI to RCU; optional status reporting to PMS
  • Same install point asentry triple panel
  • Clean / VC rooms can be forced to no power

④ Room state / PMS permission

Check-in activates, check-out revokes; engineering / housekeeping cards with timed permission.

  • Event mapping:lock PMS sync table
  • Welcome scene triggers with card power
  • PurePoint Smart provides dry contacts and protocol documentation—not PMS software

Four room states · power output

Typical outputs from an acceptance perspective—sign off per contract scene table on site.

  • Mains cut-off

Lighting, outlets, and HVAC circuits off by default; fire and low-voltage retained.

  • Door contact active

Open door without card does not energize—prevents unsold rooms left lit.

  • Corridor light policy

Corridor may stay on PIR; in-room circuits remain cut off.

  • RCU standby

Host stays alive; Welcome and HVAC preset scenes do not trigger.

Two card power paths · RFP selection

In tenders, fix logic form first, then model—the two most common entry card-power deployment paths in PurePoint Smart projects.

Card power 86 panel path

Path A· card touch panel power

Chain and upscale standard—guest card closes power contact; delayed disconnect after card removal; may unify card with room key, elevator, and lock.

  • Hardware:card power+ RCU relays
  • Acceptance: outlets and HVAC cut off within 30s–5min after card removal
  • Suited to: new build, full-fit business hotel

Keyless door-contact power path

Path B· keyless + door permission

Boutique and retrofit—no physical card slot; door contact plus PMS permission window determines occupied state; delayed cut-off after checkout permission revoked.

  • Hardware: door contact DI +wireless RCU
  • Acceptance: vacant room open door no power; cut off within 10 min after checkout
  • Suited to: boutique property, partial renovation

Wiring and acceptance checklist

Mains circuit split

Main breaker, lighting, HVAC, and fridge/charging always-on circuits marked on per-room wiring diagram.

Delayed disconnect

30s–5min after card removal, configurable; corridor light linkage agreed separately in contract.

Door contact polarity

NO/NC matches RCU DI definition; common ground with door sign module.

Site testing
